My grandmother taught me how to knit in third grade, but I didn't learn to crochet until I was much older. A year ago, I came across the book Bloemen haken (Crocheting Flowers) by Sascha Blase-van Wagtendonk and was immediately hooked (pun intended). Her flowers are beautiful and her patterns are very easy to follow. I was convinced that everyone should have those crocheted flowers in their homes, but I also know that not everyone can (learn to) crochet. So I got to work and created Made_by_Silke: flowers crocheted with love.
